The famed Coco Chanel Apartment in Paris gets a new design additions courtesy of Parisian design firm, Desjeux Delaye that is currently exhibiting its timeless collection of sophisticated lighting fixtures. Located on the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, the apartment is one of the most sought-after places during special occasions such as the beloved Paris Fashion Week.
.
Founded by Dorothée Delaye and Daphné Desjeux, the firm often does work in boutique hotels, such as the Hotel Snob or the Hotel Louvre Piedmont, just to name a few. Now, the dynamic duo decided to create their own lighting designs from brushed brass that exude a 30’s Art Deco flair.
“We wanted fixtures that were treated like wall jewels with simple and timeless shapes. Coco Chanel’s apartment is a marvel, thanks to its woodwork, its moldings, and high ceilings. We counterbalanced the style with more refined forms,” said Dorothée Delaye.
The lamps and sconces do not follow the same style as the Chanel house as according to the designers wasn’t the right fit considering the space. However, they are a major success among visitors and the duo actually prepared a collection of lighting for retail, which was recently showcased at the Paris Design Week, which concluded a few weeks ago and can now be shopped at Melissa Rogan Editions.
