Stars of art, fashion, and film gathered at the Grand Palais in Paris last week to celebrate the legendary fragrance Miss Dior, as interpreted by 15 top international female artists. Guests—including the brand’s current muse, Natalie Portman; her husband, choreographer Benjamin Millepied; and fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld.
While the pieces are highly varied in medium, they all portray an element of youthful femininity, a hallmark of the fragrance since its creation in 1947. One of the most literal, and impactful, creations is Portuguese visual artist Joana Vasconcelos’s immense pink bow, crafted from thousands of illuminated bottles of J’adore! and modeled on the one that graces each vessel of Miss Dior.
American Polly Apfelbaum’s vibrant houndstooth carpet breathes new life into the classic motif on the bottle’s packaging, while French designer Ionna Vautrin’s tentlike folly boasts a roof of dainty pink, white, and black gloves. Très chic!
