Not everyone owns an apartment in Paris. And even fewer people have an apartment in Paris, with a magnificent, chic and modern interior design. However, it’s still possible to look and be inspired by some of the most well-designed residences in the French capital. If the Parisian style is what you’re looking for, or if you’re searching for inspiration to change the decoration of your master bathroom, this is an answer to you.
The polished master bathroom in this Paris apartment is covered in luxurious layers of sculptured marble, mirror, and brass. “This place was being created for a woman with a dynamic and fun temper, so we decided to treat it as a modern and unconventional jewel box,” explains designer Laurent Champeau, cofounder of Paris firm Champeau & Wilde. “The bathroom was no exception!”
The stylish mix of materials permitted Champeau to guarantee every corner and cranny felt special — “It’s all about the details!” he says — but he did so without losing function, vital in any bathroom, along the way. Behind the wall of mirrors is a medicine cabinet, its openings hidden subtly behind the brass grid. Champeau also mounted the pair of faucets directly onto the mirror so that they almost disappear.
Although the vanity’s base is solid brass, it still feels airy, with spaces for open shelves along with drawers with bronze handles. Towels, makeup, and other knickknacks all have their places — there’s even a shelf carved into the shower wall for shampoo. The sliding door that leads to the master bedroom, mirrored on the bathroom side and paneled on the bedroom side, is a fitting finishing touch.
