KENSAKU OSHIRO NOMINATED BY PIERO LISSONI
Born in ’77, Kensaku Oshiro from Okinawa, Japan got his Master’s Degree in Industrial Design from the Scuola Politecnica di Milano in 1999.
He collaborated with several design studios including Piero Lissoni’s Lissoni Associati in Milan and Barber & Osgerby in London. After returning to Italy, he founded his own studio through which he collaborated with names such as Kristalia, Ligne Roset, Boffi, Glas Italia, De Padova, Gan, Viccarbe and Zanotta.
He’s won #1 for Design Report Award at the 2016 Milan Salone Satellite, an EDIDA, a 2016 Young Design Talent in Japan award, among others.
Piero Lissoni, who has known and worked with Oshiro for 8 years and sponsors his nomination for M&O’s Rising Talent, briefs that his work represents “the gap between the Japanese and Western perspectives on simplicity/complexity.”
Kensaku Oshiro will be bringing some of his most insightful works to M&O, inspired by concepts that he has approached previously, and is excited that this exhibition offers him the chance to make new contacts and acquaintances from all over the world. We can’t wait to see the end result of his efforts.
