From April 27th to May 22nd, you’ll get to visit Salon de Montrouge, an event that concentrates a major exhibition for emerging artists. Paris Design Agenda introduces this massive event, and all you need to know about it.
It all started in the hands of Marcel Derulle, in 1955, when he became responsible to create an art fair in the city of Montrouge, and that’s when the Salon de Montrouge was born. Throughout the years, the event got even more recognized, and gain an incredible reputation for the demonstration of emerging artists.
It has also obtained a large amount of respect amongst the art community, because it gives a massive platform and visibility for the artists, that translates in this art fair, where it’s standing out their artwork, for all the art lovers and collectors that are looking for it specifically.
With a new artistic curator in 2009, Stéphane Corréard, this event goes through a transformation, becoming a major step in the establishment of the artistic career of all the artists that participate in Salon de Montrouge. It guarantees that all the exhibitions will be seen by all connoisseurs, amateurs and professionals from the art world.
This translates in the massive power of networking between the two parties, which ables them to enrich their connections in the art industry, and potentially resulting in the creation of new projects that could benefit both the artists, and/or the collectors, and other professionals. The proof sits on the visitation of more than 20,000 attendees, in 2015, at Salon de Montrouge.
This year’s 64th edition is held for almost a month, and it is the perfect place for artists, collectors and art lovers, that can admire and personally connect with the artwork and the artists. At Salon de Montrouge you’ll find artists such as Felice Varini, Georges Rousse, Hervé Di Rosa, Theo Mercier, and many more.
