The anticipated 72º Festival de Cannes has finally started to overwhelm the city of Cannes with the most amazing stars in the planet. It has begun on the past Tuesday, May 14th, and it will take place until May 25th, almost the end of the month. This event it’s made out of an incredible combination of outstanding films, fashion and elegance throughout the festival days. The launch of the Festival de Cannes took place on Grand Théâtre Lumière, with Javier Bardem and Charlotte Gainsbourg. The Feature Film Jury was amazingly composed by Kelly Reichardt, Elle Fanning, Maimouna N’Diaye, Alice Rohrwacher, Enki Bilal, Robin Campillo, Yorgos Lanthimos and Paweł Pawlikowski. This event paid its respects to late film director, Agnès Varda, through a tribute poster, as well as the “Sans Toi” song, performed by Angèle, and composed by Michel Legrand.

The chosen Feature Film Jury President is Alejandro Gonzalez Iñárritu, who discussed the importance of the film industry, to perfectly place the context for the opening of the festival. During Festival de Cannes, there will be four Rendez-vos with artists at the Buñuel Theater, which stands on the cinema lesson concept. There will be four masterclasses with directors and actors such as Zhang Ziyi, Sylvester Stallone, Nicolas Winding Refn and Alain Delon.

The Festival de Cannes also reinvents itself and, during the night there will be a massive open-air cinema, that will take place at the Macé Beach of the Croisette. From May 14-25th there will be screenings of classics, cult or recent films. This is a first-time specific events, where you can appreciate the film culture, right under the stars.
Stars such as Julianne Moore, Selena Gomez, Priyanka Chopra and many other Hollywood stars went down the red carpet, presenting the most exquisite and luxurious designer outfits. These exquisite gowns are absolutely Cannes worthy, perfectly resembling to the concept that’s around this festival for years.
It’s true, the time has finally come to receive this festival once again, which is one of the most star-studded festival that surrounds itself with film excellence, fashion and glamour. From May 14-25, there will be many anticipated screenings and exclusive events, that will transform Festival de Cannes into the place to be.
