The name Lalique evokes the brilliance of crystal, the wonder of transparency and the radiance of jewellery. At the Maison et Objet 2018 and to celebrate its 130th Anniversary, Lalique exhibited a new stunning collection that takes us to the heart of the immeasurable heritage built by its founder.
Through his work, René Lalique explored the decorative possibilities of flora, fauna and the female form. Among fauna, the swallow particularly inspired him, which he then made the centrepiece of many jewels and decorative objects.

With admiration and respect for this immense artist, Lalique reinterprets the figure of the swallow, recurring in the Master’s work, herald of spring, symbol of happiness and freedom. Fashioned in satin-finished and re-polished crystal, emblematic of Lalique, the swallows are juxtaposed in a graphic play on repetition.
The precision of the design echoes the purity of crystal, fashioned by the hand of the best artisans from the crystal factory. Lalique exhibits its exceptional savoir-faire in each creation. The halls of our ateliers resonate with a passion for craftsmanship, the love of beauty and a devotion to excellence.
For example, this vase depicts the beauty of swallows taking flight. With grace and lightness, they spread their wings with finely chiselled feathers. Illuminated with gold, they twirl around, drawing the eye into swirls of crystal. To see the full Hirondelles La Collection, visit here.
