Alain Ducasse, who has accumulated nothing less than 21 Michelin stars over the course of his career, is opening a restaurant in Versailles, Paris. This means that not only is Versailles getting a luxe hotel, it’s getting a world-class restaurant.
The Paris restaurant named Ore – meaning mouth in latin – was designed by architects Dominique Perrault and Frédéric Didier, and pays tribute to “the Sun King’s splendor and many contemporary reinterpretations of historical decorative themes.”

According to the press release “During the day, the restaurant Ore is an elegant contemporary café, open to all. In the evening, Ducasse au Château de Versailles is an exclusive dining experience. As the Palace slowly empties itself, the restaurant becomes a stage for grand dinners and exclusive events.”
Visitors from around the world will be able to taste a French-inspired menu with classics of our cuisine, alongside light and quick snacks, desserts, and gourmet pastries.
If you’re planning a trip to the City of Light, it’s surely great to know that now you can stay and dine on the grounds of France’s Palace of Versailles. While chef Alain Ducasse has been chosen to lead a team that will turn part of the Palace into a hotel and restaurant, France-based LOV Hotel Collection has won the contract for the Versailles hotel.
The fine dining restaurant from Alain Ducasse is planned for one of the buildings, which are all located on the southeast area of the property and hopefully opening between July 20 and September 20. The hotel has an opening date of sometime in 2018.
No more wondering what are the best restaurants in Paris or where to eat during your next travel to the city. The ambiance must be classy, food must be delicious and the restaurant interiors must be delightful.
