Maison et Objet Paris took place a few days ago and one of the luxury brands that had quite a performance was without a shadow of a doubt, Vista Alegre. During the lifestyle and design trade show, the Portuguese ceramics and porcelain brand showcased its latest interior design collections, including tableware, home decor, giftware and lighting, and for the first time, Vista Alegre presented home furniture as well, including the striking “Once Upon a Time”, which was designed in collaboration with Boca do Lobo.
Following the successful launch of their lighting collection in collaboration with designers such as Ross Lovegrove and Mendel Heit in 2018, the brand will this year present another range of lamps created by celebrated names including Jo Sampson and Ross Lovegrove. These new collections reinforce the brand’s continued commitment to pushing the limits of design.
The tableware collections by Vista Alegre combine mastery of design techniques with a modern vision. One of the most notable collections presented by the brand, ‘Amzōnia’, tackles global environmental issues through charitable partnerships such as that with EcoArts – a Brazilian NGO that operates in the state of Mato Grosso. For each piece of the ‘Amazōnia’ collection that is sold, a tree will be planted as part of a community and environmental project.
The brand also unveils new pieces within the stunning ‘Única’ collection alongside a new collection in collaboration with Christian Lacroix Maison, named ‘Herbariae’. This new collection reflects the strength of the partnership between the two brands. Also echoing the brand’s commitment to social responsibility and preserving biodiversity is the ‘Endangered’ series. This was developed in partnership with institutions for the protection of endangered species.
2019 marks a step forward and a broadening of horizons for Vista Alegre into furniture design and beyond what is classically considered the sphere of porcelain. Underpinning this evolution is the unwavering commitment to handcraftsmanship, quality, prestige, and world-renowned design.
