Design Icon: Awarded Alexander McQueen’s Paris Boutique
After winning the second edition of the Prix Versailles for Commercial Architecture, Alexander McQueen’s new Paris boutique has become the newest design icon for the city. We already knew that Paris is best known for the croissants, the Eiffel Tower and its beautiful architecture. And this boutique has proven just that parisian architecture with this modern, luxury twist is really an example of what the city has to offer.
The British-based fashion brand Alexander McQueen opened the flagship store, their first in Paris, in September 2015.
“The Paris store is a truly significant opening and we are very proud to finally have a flagship in such an inspirational city. I am excited that customers will get to experience this exclusive McQueen world and shop in an immersive environment,” stated Sarah Burton, creative director of Alexander McQueen.
Together, a group of architects and cultural experts decided to award the Rue Saint-Honoré boutique for its ability to integrate with its landscape, its exterior architecture, interior design and services.
