With an exceptional design philosophy, the Belgium-based brand, Extremis creates relaxing and functional pieces for the comfort of everyone, and this year, they designed the ultimate Parisian bistro experience. Purposely entitled “Bistroo”, this collection features a wide variety of outdoor furniture designs that are perfect to be placed in either a romantic Paris bistro, a balcony or even the outdoors of your home. Now, Paris Design Agenda will explore this unique collection that pays homage to one of the most traditional and spectacular aspects of Paris.
“Instead of sitting opposite each other, you sit side by side at the Bistroo. Ideal for a cosy chat, passing whispered commentary on the people walking down the street. The Extremis team loves a spot of people-watching, don’t you?”
The rounded backrests provide support as you sit side by side and enjoy a delicious meal. The hole of this design was specially made in order to resemble the mood of a bistro as if the garçon was going to leave a tray of herbs and condiments. Three legs, two chairs and one tabletop are the basis of this innovative concept.
The Bistroo remains perfectly stable on an outdoor terrace thanks to its three cleverly-positioned legs. The fact that this ingenious new concept is quick to stack and lock away is another great benefit for any restaurant owner.
However, as we previously mentioned, this collection is not only limited to restaurants, one can actually use it in their own outdoors, as Extremis boosts the idea, “Wake up in your apartment with the sun peeping through the curtains. Wander past the full-length windows to the balcony, still in your bathrobe, and enjoy a heavenly espresso at your Bistroo. Wave to your darling, just coming back from the bakery with fresh croissants, and spend the rest of the morning leafing through the Sunday papers, side by side. What could be better?”
As a whole, Bistroo is a good example of how design can dynamize one’s social life. It encourages people to get some fresh and enjoy the spectacular nature of the outdoors.
