Based in Paris, the renowned retail company, Roche Bobois is considered one of the top players in the design industry when it comes to providing high-end collections of furniture, sofas and accessories. Recently, the Parisian firm partnered up with the beloved Dutch designer, Marcel Wanders to create a marvelous design collection inspired by the majestic creations of French inventions, the Montgolfier Brothers. The exceptional collection is entitled Globe Trotter and, today, Paris Design Agenda will explore some of its most iconic pieces!
With more than 20 pieces based on various inventions by the Montgolfiers, the whimsical collection will take anyone on an adventurous and awe-inspiring design journey, thanks to the great skill of the two design powerhouses. Together, they were able to combine history with a fabled adventure, thus creating a playful collection of furniture, accessories and lighting designs.
The biggest design inspiration for this collections was definitely Montgolfiers’ hot air balloon invention, whose traces can be seen in pieces such as the Up lamp and the Montgolfier sofa and armchair.
