The latest range of Louis Vuitton iconic rolling luggage has been recently revealed and it was designed by the esteemed designer, Marc Newson. Entitled Horizon 55, this new line will allow individuals to travel in style with a four-wheeled check-in and cabin-size luggage, offering serious interior capacity and lightness. Today, Paris Design Agenda explores the characteristics of this astounding travelling item.
The French luxury brand has been one of the most influential names in the fashion and design industries since the 19th century. This time around, the Louis Vuitton brand joined forces with industrial designer, Marc Newson, who is regarded as one of the best in his field.
“I’m obsessive about packing everything into a bag of a certain size which is why it was so important for me to design a product that could tick all of those boxes and be the kind of the perfect piece of luggage for a person like me, that travels and won’t travel with anything more than is absolutely necessary.” – Marc Newson
This new carry-on luggage was imagined for the contemporary traveller and they were somewhat inspired by the design of the original trucks. Horizon is actually the first four-wheeled case to have a completely flat shell. Furthermore, the interior storage space was completely optimized and an external handle was expanded in order to offer as much space as possible for the traveller.
The design of this outstanding luggage could be best described as sleek and light, discreet and secure. Every detail was thoroughly throughout so as to ensure supreme quality.
Horizon comes in Check-in and Cabin sizes and even a mini cabin version. It is available in Monogram canvas, Monogram Eclipse, Damier Graphite, Taiga leather, in natural cowhide leather and a rainbow of 7 colours of Epi leather.
