This weekend all eyes are set on Maison et Objet and it’s not only because of some of the top luxury furniture brands are there, but also due to all the latest trends in design that came from there. In order to help you know what’s “in” in interior decoration, we’ve gathered a list of the latest new trends from Maison et Objet 2019.

Mid-century modern style

Vintage is a word that doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon, even in interior decoration. The pieces of furniture that remind us of the good old days of the 30s and 60s are still considered a marvel in living rooms and bedrooms. What better way to go back to the past than through decoration?

As you can see, the patterns we see in many mammals are still considered beautiful to apply both in fashion and decoration. There are more and more materials that can elegantly replicate those lovely fur patterns in fabric and other relevant materials. The results give the decoration a chic touch to them.

Natural materials

This trend was mostly inspired by the Scandinavian and Japanese typical tendencies in interior decoration. Wood is a very used type of material in this style of decoration, particularly Dark Wood.

Cultural eclectic

For those who don’t know, this concept refers to a style of decoration which intends to enjoy the freedom of collective different ideas, variety, culture, crafts etc. under one roof. Using several sets of ideas from various mindsets, time periods and cultures the results can be multicultural and quite astonishing to look at. The key word here is “variety”!

Pastel colors

Ever since Pantone announced that Living Coral was the color of the year 2019, everyone went crazy for this shade applying it, particularly on furniture. This style of Coral is becoming a favorite, particularly in living room furniture. As a matter of fact, pastel colors, in general, are still very used in furnishings.

More and more people are betting on a more natural style of decoration for their homes, and that includes both the use of living plants in the decoration and also the use of plant patterns in the same style. Green has never been so in!

Exotic Prints

The topic of Exotic Prints is somehow related to the theme of plants. Replicating these green and colorful beings in decorative elements such as curtains, pillows or in fabrics used to cover many furnishings is definitely something catchy in the world of decoration right now.
