Chzon is a global design agency founded in 2009 by Dorothée Meilichzon, specialising in hospitality design. With a researcher’s mind, always seeking out new trends, Dorothée takes her inspiration from everything around her, especially from the great names in decor: Madeleine Castaing, Dorothy Draper, Fornasetti, David Hicks, Gio Ponti, Charles and Ray Eames and François-Xavier Lalanne. Among the places she has designed in Paris, there is now the Hotel Grand Pigalle, in the 9th arrondissement. Take a look inside this beautiful Paris hotel.

The 37-room hotel occupies a six-storey Haussmannian building on the corner of rues Victor-Massé and Henry Monnier, its wrought iron balconies overlooking avenue Frochot where Toulouse-Lautrec once lived and its bull’s eye windows on the attic level spying on the Sacré Coeur on top of Montmartre.
Cosmopolitan par excellence, the Grand Pigalle Hotel is above all, a Parisian address and definitely one of the best places to stay in Paris. The ground floor, a space for reception and the wine bar, transforms throughout the day to capture the moods of the city: its desires and incomparable energy – its hedonism like no other.
Designed by Dorothée Meilichzon, regular Experimental Group collaborator, its interior can be described as a contemporary-retro take on classic French design with Anglo-Saxon details.
Charming rooms under the eaves of the top floor, balconies eying the tree-lined passages of the avenue Frochot, original mouldings, fireplaces, aged and textured wallpaper, brass lamps and handles, bathroom tiles… all of this revives the eternal bohemian spirit of this artist-adored Parisian neighbourhood. The octagonal design, symbolic even of the form of the South Pigalle quartier, is a leitmotif of décor: custom-made mahogany desks, drawer handles and doorknobs, window frames, wallpaper details, etc.
In the hotel interiors, designed for locals and travellers alike, each space is an invitation to let the senses roam and emotions rise. This hotel in Paris is the answer for those wondering where to stay in Paris during their next trip to the city.
