FEDERICA BIASI, NOMINATED BY ANDREA BRANZI
After having graduated from the Istituto Europeo di Design, and having collaborated with multiple design firms in Milan until 2014, Federica Biasi decided to move to Amsterdam on her own. Her motives were simple: to organize her projects, get them finished, to take over her own style and then consequently, the world.
Very inspired by Northern European design, Federica has been an Art Director at Mingardo, also working as a creative consultant with other brands such as Fratelli Guzzini. Federica also produces ceramic pieces, decorations and textiles. You can find most of her work on her Instagram.
Andrea Branzi, her mentor and sponsor for the Rising Talents Award, claims he “chose Federica Biasi for her quintessential design and poetic ideas, which deliver subtle, yet very particular messages”.
Federica has chosen to bring to MAISON et OBJET a series of emblematic products from the past, using unexpected materials, as well as a few exclusive objects designed especially for the event. These include: a faience tableware collection, with motifs hand-painted by Christian Pegoraro (Bottega Nove) and a rug designed in collaboration with CC-TAPIS with North-African fabric patterns. Her exhibition will be framed fully within a metal structure by Mingardo. So exciting!
