France is the world’s top tourist destination and for good reason. There’s a lot packed into just one country – artistic and architectural masterpieces, remarkable museums and natural landscapes… And its capital city has plenty to offer! So, in case you’re visiting Paris and are in the mood for outdoors, consider this: to hire a private yacht, navigating the Seine, in a romantic gesture to your soulmate… Now, wouldn’t that be a dream?
It’s possible, it’s doable if you really want it. But how? – you ask. Because textile mogul Pierre Frey’s appropriately named boat, Cachemire, with its gorgeously restored and appointed interiors, can be hired for the occasion. Just ask Mr. Frey, who finished overhauling the vessel in time for his father’s birthday celebration. It may be the ideal place in which to mark a major milestone. The yacht design is absolutely stunning.
Cachemire, which can accommodate parties of up to 14 guests, can be booked directly through Yachts de Paris seven days a week, year-round. The minimum fee is $3,425 for four hours, not including food or beverage. And if there’s one thing a trip like this calls for, it’s a glass or two of good champagne.
Every aspect of the experience is fantastic — from the quality of the food and services to the views of Paris as seen from the river. Whether seated at an elegantly set dining table on chairs upholstered in Frey’s own namesake French cashmere, or before a fireplace — yes, a fireplace — in the cozy lounge nook, or on the breezy rear deck, it’s impossible to find a poor spot onboard from which to take in the views of Notre Dame Cathedral and the Eiffel Tower. Even the floor, covered in a sumptuous custom carpet, is worth marveling.
