Covet House Boca do Lobo Luxxu Maison Valentina PullCast Circu

As the seat of the EU, Brussels is known as the “capital of Europe,” and its significance as a center of international governance and business makes Brussels a truly global city. Besides the beer, the waffles, the chocolate, and the diamonds, Brussels is also known for its vast choice of the best showrooms.

#1 – Bolia

Bolia was born in Denmark, which provides the greatest inspiration for everything this brand does. Nature, the materials, and Scandinavian design heritage. A heritage based on simplicity, elegance, craftsmanship, and authentic materials. They work closely with talented international designers – from new talent to prestigious design studios. And no matter where in the world their designers are from, they all share a passion for Scandinavian design, natural materials, and beautiful designs, all captured in a small sanctuary that invites tranquillity, contemplation, and creative adventures.

#2 – Cassina

Cassina has been designing the future of interiors for 90 years. Founded by Cesare and Umberto Cassina in Meda in 1927, the company launched industrial design in Italy during the ’50s by taking a completely new approach which saw a shift from handcraftsmanship to serial production. The company was pioneering in the way that it showed a striking inclination for research and innovation, combining technological skill with traditional craftsmanship. For the first time, important architects and designers were involved and encouraged to envision new designs to be transformed into projects, a characteristic that still distinguishes the company. Today Cassina continues to represent new ways of living, creating harmonious settings that bring together the best of contemporary design.

The building is located in the lively Dansaert district in the heart of Brussels and its 250m2 showroom extended across two floors. When you visit, make sure to go downstairs in the back, since most of the items are displayed there! Starting from scratch, with a very limited budget but tons of motivation and determination, the few suppliers quickly grew over the years. La Fabrika started as a small team of one, then two, and now they have almost a half soccer team!

#9 – Ligne

What seems obvious today was not at all back in days, the heydays and awakening of the design, in the early seventies. Few people knew Artek, Cassina, or Zanotta, the first brands that appeared in the Ligne window at Galerie de la Reine 12. Through reading Domus and Interni and attending numerous fairs, the showcase of Ligne became a real reference. The calling was to become the best of the best to present contemporary furniture and this for everyone. In 2012, it came a large displacement at the Galerie du Roi. More space, more windows, and rare collections always featuring such as Classicon, Castellani & Smith, Kristalia, Mobimex, E15, Louis Poulsen, Blur… the list goes on and on!

#10 – Showroom_144

Frank Pay is the founder of SHOWROOM_144, an innovative design shop with a mix of vintage and contemporary furniture, artisanal objects, and art. Frank’s selection for SHOWROOM_144 is based on quality, texture, geometry, freshness, and comfort. They only do official re-editions and work with labels like Thonet and Ghyczy because they combine quality, service, and a passion for good historical as well as contemporary design.
